Throughout April, we convened four brainstorming sessions to come up with ideas for our chapter moving forward. Ana Tampanna moderated those sessions and presented the results at our May meeting – which in turn generated more ideas! You can see the ideas for yourself – just click on this 2017 Chapter Possibilities link, which is the PowerPoint presentation turned into a PDF.
The really big ideas that arose include the desire for a women’s resource center in Forsyth County and advocating for a Commission on the Status of Women in that county as well (Guilford County already has both of these).
We also had new signups for our Issues Action Teams: Reproductive Rights, Racial Justice, Economic Justice, Ending Violence Against Women, LGBTQ Equality and the Equal Rights Amendment. In the coming weeks we’ll be convening these teams through phone conference calls. If you’d like to join one of these teams, please email president@triadnow.org.
