Republican in-fighting has brought the budget negotiations to a grinding halt and very likely will result in the state not having a budget for the second two-year legislative session in a row. Last session the governor vetoed the budget passed by the legislature and the veto could not be overridden. Don’t let anyone tell you that the Republican party is the fiscally responsible one.
ACTION ALERT: House Bill 453, Human Life Act Non-Discrimination/No Eugenics has moved. The bill has passed the House and two Senate Committees. It is now resting in the Senate Rules Committee. The next and final step will be for it to be sent to the Senate floor for a vote.
TAKE ACTION: Contact your State Senator immediately to oppose House Bill 453. Be
prepared to contact the governor to ask him to veto House Bill 453.
